絵画は、描く前から始まる。

普段何気なく使っているキャンバスやパネル、紙。
絵を描くための土台を「支持体」と呼びます。

今回のワークショップでは、洋画家・星野有紀さんを講師に迎え、伝統的な接着材料「膠（にかわ）」を使った支持体づくりを学びます。

木製パネルに紙を張る方法と、布を張る方法。
素材の特徴や違いを知りながら、SMサイズのパネルを2点制作します。

支持体は、絵画の仕上がりや描き心地にも関わる大切な要素。

普段は完成された画材を使っている方も、自分の手で支持体をつくることで、素材への理解が深まるかもしれません。

絵画を学んでいる方はもちろん、初めての方も歓迎です。

Preparing Painting Supports with Artist Yuki Hoshino
Mounting Paper & Fabric on Wooden Panels Using Traditional Animal Glue

A painting begins long before the first brushstroke.

Canvas, wooden panels, and paper are materials we often take for granted. In painting, these surfaces are known as supports.

In this workshop, painter Yuki Hoshino will guide participants through traditional techniques for preparing painting supports using animal glue (nikawa).

You'll learn how to mount both paper and fabric onto wooden panels, exploring the unique properties of each material as you create two small panels.

The support plays an important role in how paint behaves, how a surface feels to work on, and the final appearance of a painting.

Even if you're used to working with ready-made surfaces, preparing your own supports can offer a deeper understanding of the materials you paint on.

Whether you're an experienced painter or completely new to art, you're welcome to join us!
